Rash: When to See a Doctor

This is not an emergency service. If this is an emergency, call 911. Do not wait for an app, or for a reply from us, if there is trouble breathing, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, a rash with a fever that does not fade when you press a clear glass on it, confusion or drowsiness, or skin that is peeling or sloughing.

The app has not been released yet. There is nothing to download at the moment. This page is published so that the support address and the policies are in place before release.

Please do not email us photographs. We cannot look at your skin, we cannot tell you what you have, and a photograph sent by email is not covered by the deletion guarantees that apply inside the app. If you want a photograph looked at, that is what a clinician is for.

Using the app

How do I get a result?

Open the app and answer the checklist. That is the whole core of the product: 21 questions about signs and symptoms, and at the end a care level, a timeframe, and the reason — traceable to the specific answers that produced it. It works offline, it is unlimited, and it is free. You do not have to take a photograph at all.

Do I have to add a photo?

No. The photo step is optional and comes after you already have your answer. If you skip it, you keep the full care recommendation, the reasons, the red-flag warnings and the emergency screen.

What does the photo actually add?

Three things: a description of what is visible, a list of conditions that can look like this in no particular order, and the questions your clinician is likely to ask you. It does not add a name for what you have, and it never picks one item from the list.

Why does it never tell me what I have?

Because it does not know, and because software that appears to know changes what people do. This app is built to prepare you for a clinician, not to replace one. It never tells you what you have. There is no verdict and no single answer.

Will it ever reassure me?

No, and this is deliberate. It never tells you a rash is nothing to worry about. There is no all-clear in this app, at any level. Every result ends with seeing a clinician. If you were hoping for reassurance, this is the wrong app, and we would rather tell you that here than take your money for it.

Why did adding a photo make it more urgent?

Because that is the only direction it can move. A photo can only raise the urgency. It can never lower it. There is no result the photo can produce that reduces the care level your answers already set.

The photo step said it could not finish. What now?

When the analysis comes back incomplete, we discard it in full rather than show you part of it, and your checklist result stands unchanged. That failure costs you nothing and does not count against the fair-use limit. You can try again with better light, or simply go with the checklist result — which is the part of this product that actually decides your care level.

Is it right?

We do not claim that it is. The photo step uses a general-purpose image model (Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, run via Replicate). It has not been evaluated for use in skin conditions, it has not been reviewed or cleared by the FDA, and no accuracy figure is claimed for it anywhere in this app. It has not been clinically validated and no accuracy figure is claimed for it. Published testing of models of this class, on clinically curated photographs under controlled conditions, shows they are frequently wrong — and measurably less reliable on darker skin. That is precisely why the photo cannot lower your care level, and why the emergency checks run from your answers alone, with no model involved.

Does it work without a signal?

The checklist, the care level, the timeframe, the red-flag warnings and the emergency screen all run on your phone, with no network. Only the optional photo step needs a connection.

Why is it rated for adults only?

Because every result discusses medical conditions and because the app receives photographs of bodies. We answered Apple's age-rating questionnaire honestly rather than filing the app as a utility to get a lower rating. The Terms of Use separately require you to be 18 or older.

Privacy

What happens to my photo?

It is uploaded over an encrypted connection to a private storage bucket, passed to the model by a short-lived signed link that is never shown to you or anyone else, and deleted the moment the analysis finishes. We keep no copy. There is no server-side photo history, so there is nothing to breach or to hand over. Location data is removed from the photo on your phone before it is uploaded.

Do you keep my history?

Your history lives on your phone. We never receive it.

Do you track me or show ads?

No. There is no advertising SDK, no advertising ID, no App Tracking Transparency prompt, no attribution SDK and no third-party analytics. There is no account and no email address. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not sell consumer health data.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete everything. One tap, one confirmation. It purges every record, every stored photo and your notes, and resets your consent. Or email privacy@bulpara.com, answered within 45 days.

How do I withdraw consent to sending photos?

Settings, at any time. The checklist keeps working with photo analysis off, forever — which is what makes the consent genuinely free to withdraw.

Pricing and billing

What is free?

The checklist, the care level and timeframe, the reasons, every red-flag warning, the emergency screen, and the photo step — with a fair-use limit of 5 photo analyses a day.

Does subscribing give me more photo analyses?

No, and it never will. The fair-use limit is a rate limit, not a paywall, and subscribing does not raise it. Raising it for payers would mean selling the answer, and we do not sell the answer. What you can buy is preparation: the Clinician Handoff export, change-tracking over time, a profile for each person in the household, appointment reminders, and full history on older records.

What does it cost?

A one-time Clinician Handoff Pack at $4.99, or Premium at $7.99/month or $59.99/year with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan. There is no weekly plan, and there never will be one.

How do I cancel, and how do I get a refund?

Cancel in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue them, but write to us and we will help you ask.
